Diminishing Jim is an original rock band from Connecticut. The band has a truly unique sound, incorporating
elements of rock, pop, groove rock, and hard rock. The band's songs are catchy with three part harmonies, yet
raw and energetic. They have been compared to bands including Foo Fighters, Vertical Horizon, Jimmy Eat
World and The Cars.
The band is Ted Petrie (guitar/vocals), Chris Giard (guitar/vocals), Jim Hoefelt (bass/vocals), and Brendan
Johnston (drums). All the band members have been playing in the local music scene for years in bands
including Megahertz, 3-Eyed Fish, and Milo.

Diminishing Jim New CD News
As planned, Diminishing Jim entered the studio on March 25, 2006 to begin recording its
first CD. In a single day the band recorded drums and scratch tracks for 12 original songs
as well as a cover of Peter Gabriel's Shock the Monkey. Over the summer and fall the
band finalized guitar and bass lines and laid down the final vocal tracks. The final mixing
is taking place now. Eleven songs in this current stage are available on our music page,
and four songs are available on the DJ MySpace Web page. The band plans to complete
the song She Said first and release it on a compilation CD of local bands of the full CD.

Diminishing Jim returned to Schmedley's Pub in Storrs, CT on Friday, April 7. They teamed up again for a double-bill
with the excellent Bill Carleton Band.

Diminishing Jim Rocks Toad's Place
Diminishing Jim played the legendary Toad's Place in New Haven, CT on Friday, October 21. They showcased their
original material, sharing the bill with Stormbringer and Unforgettable Fire. Check out more pictures from the gig here.

Diminishing Jim Rocks Toad's Place in New Haven
Diminishing Jim rocked the legendary Toad's Place in New Haven on May 22, 2008.
The band showcased songs from their upcoming CD as well as a surprise cover of
Voices Carry by Til Tuesday. Also on the bill were Megahertz, Hatt Trick, Echoing
August, Carnival of Sin and Tragedy. Check out photos!
A New Lineup and a New Song in Seymour
The new lineup of Diminishing Jim featuring new member Chris Giard made its debut at
Dewey's Pub in Seymour CT on December 17, 2008. The band played an assortment of
songs from its upcoming CD, a brand new song - Everything to Me - and a cover of
Voices Carry. A fun time was had by all.
Diminishing Jim Poolside at the Miracle Ride
Diminishing Jim performed poolside at the "Miracle Ride" benefiting the Connecticut Children's
Medical Center at the High Meadow Resort in North Granby CT on Sunday April 26. Check out

Diminishing Jim played their debut show at the Hartford Advocate Best Bar in
Manchester - Corey's Catsup & Mustard - on Saturday February 6, 2010. The band
